Dun Gotta Gun has amassed a tremendous show record with very limited showing. This striking 1998 dun stallion has long been a crowd favorite with his phenomenal stop, big turn, and show presence.

In the fall of his three year old year, Dun Gotta Gun started off his show career in a big way by winning the Reserve Non Pro Futurity Championship at the 2001 SWRHA Futurity with Mandy McCutcheon in the saddle.

Then at the 2001 NRHA Non Pro Futurity, Dun Gotta Gun and Mandy were 4th in the first go and won the second go out of 155 entries. They then came back in the finals and tied to win the NRHA Non Pro Futurity. After a run off, they were named the Reserve Champions.

In 2002, Dun Gotta Gun continued his winning ways at he NRBC Non Pro Classic by winning the first go, and ending up in the top 20 in the finals. One month later at the 2002 NRHA Derby, Mandy and Dun Gotta Gun again made the finals and ended up 3rd out of 120 entries.

Not long after the Derby, Dun Gotta Gun was purchased by Jerry Kimmel of Texas. Jerry and Dun Gotta Gun have continued winning in the show pen, both in NRHA and AQHA competition. At the 2003 Scottsdale Classic Circuit, Jerry rode Dun Gotta Gun to the Amateur Reining Championship.

He is sired by all time #1 Leading NRHA Sire, Hollywood Dun It, and out of Katie Gun, the #3 NRHA All Time Producing Mare in the reining industry. Katie Gun is the dam of standouts such as Hall Of Fame Reiner Gunner and Heres Your Shine.

With his stellar pedigree, proven show record, and awesome physical ability, Dun Gotta Gun is destined to be an outstanding sire. To top it all off, Dun Gotta Gun has proven that he has the willing mental aptitude of all great reining horses. He has continued to show in 2004, making the Non Pro finals at many of the major NRHA derbies, including the NRBC.

In 2005, Million Dollar rider Tim McQuay teamed up with Dun Gotta Gun to win the Gordyville USEF Championship with a big score of 228.5 and he became a 2005 USEF Reining Championship finalist.  He also won the AQHA senior reining at the Denver Stock Show

To date, Dun Gotta Gun has over $57,000 in NRHA earnings to his credit with only a limited number of trips in the show pen.

As a testament to both his success in the show ring and his popularity, Dun Gotta Gun was honored by Breyer, and made into a plastic collectable model.
