Jerry
Kimmel's Mister Nicadual, the stallion Tim McQuay rode to 2006 FEI World
Equestrian Games Reining Gold and Silver, is one of five finalists for the
Farnam Platform United States Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year. The
winner will be featured on the Farnam Platform horse treats bag and the
selection will be determined by votes from United States Equestrian
Federation members.
The five
stand-outs are among the very finest in the horse sport and each is worthy
of the highest consideration for this celebrated honor. Nominated along with
Mister Nicadual are show jumper Authentic, owned by Abigail Wexner and
ridded by Beezie Madden,
CH Callaway's
Copyright, an outstanding Saddlebred owned by Fox Grape Farms, Inc.,
Floriano, a Westphalian gelding owned by Stephen
and Laurelyn Browning that is one of the brightest lights of the Dressage
world and champion half-Andalusion
Selwood Park Deneuve
owned by Gareth Selwood.
USEF
Director of Reining Courtney Barnet urged reining members to cast their
votes for Mister Nicadual. She noted, "Please
vote for Mister Nicadual. He has done an outstanding job and I would love to
see him rewarded in this manner."
Owner Jerry Kimmel was enthusiastic about the recognition for the chestnut stallion, as well. " When Tim told me about Mr. Nicadual and how talented he was, I was excited about the potential. We had success with my stallion Dun Gotta Gun in the USEF and WEG so Tim and I thought we would try for the WEG games in Aachen, Germany with Dually. Tim steered me right again and we were in Aachen. It was great to watch Tim and Dually mark the 230 in Aachen. It is a wonderful feeling to own a horse that is one of the five finalist for Horse of the Year. Dually is competing with some great horses for this honor.”
With only a limited amount
of showing, in 2006, Mister Nicadual amassed $78,954 in National Reining
Horse Association paychecks for Todd Crawford and Tim McQuay, not to mention
the prize money awarded at the FEI World Equestrian Games in Aachen,
Germany.
The
6-year-old American Quarter Horse - nicknamed "Dually," qualified for the
trip to Germany at the Adequan/USEF Open Reining Championship, where he put
down an impressive 229.5 to earn his chance to dazzle the international
crowds. Along with rider Tim McQuay, this energetic and show-stopping
chestnut stallion came home from the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games with
the Individual Silver medal, in addition to his Team Gold-medal honors. Just
as important as the many medals and prizes he has won over the last year,
Mister Nicadual gained the admiration and appreciation of thousands of fans
of Western horse sports and reining all over the world.
